*SOLD: Shimshon 5 Duplex

We stayed at the five bedroom duplex apartment on Shimshon 5a in Baka for Sukkos. The apartment is newly renovated and beautiful. The sukkah sat at least 16 people and the view of Yerushalayim was spectacular. There are multiple porches which are quiet and comfortable. Our manager helped us when we needed assistance with a few appliances. The apartment comes with a single parking space under the building and an elevator from the parking opens into the bottom floor of the duplex. There are both ashkenazi and sephardi Young Israel like shuls very close by. Other shuls are a little further away but within walking distance, and the Kotel is a 35 minute walk through the entrance from Har Zion, with the free baka bus to the old city 5 minutes way. Baka streets are quaint and not very busy. We had a great time.

The apt was just terrific and the service was great. Everything was in order when we arrived- tidy, clean, with a full array of supplies. The red notebook with instructions and information was invaluable and the few time I had to call the manager Nir for clarification he was quick, attentive, and responded immediately. The apt is large and spacious- suited our needs perfectly. close to shopping, town, with a shul across the street. To be fair having to climb 54 steps to reach the kitchen from outside was inconvenient but did keep us slim and in shape! Overall our experience was fantastic and we would most definitely book again with Rentals of Distinction.

As a frequent traveler to Israel, I’ve been using the services of Rentals of Distinction for many years. I’ve rented at least 5 different apartments—from small to large, in various Jerusalem locations—and every apartment has been well-maintained and exactly what is described on the ROD website. Additionally, the entire staff in the US and Israel is professional, friendly and helpful. It’s really nice knowing when dealing with ROD that I never have to worry about the accommodations I’ll find when I arrive in Israel. Recently, my family (including 10 people) stayed in the Shimshon 5 apartment. It was absolutely lovely, on a quiet street, with a parking space. I highly recommend it if you need a big apartment with lots of bathrooms.

This is the 7th year and 8th apt that we rented via Akiva and Rafi. This past Pesach Mar-Apr 2018, we rented the Shimshon 5A duplex for 7 adults,5 kids and a baby and it was a great decision. The duplex is very comfortable and spacious with 5 bedrooms and 3 and half bathrooms and there are large windows and sunlight beaming into every room in the morning. The building is on a beautiful quiet street in Baka. The top of the block intersects with the main street of Baka, Derech Beit Lechem St. where you can find specialty foods, top notch fruits and vegetables, grocery items, lighting, flowers, hair salons, vintage shops and restaurants and the bottom of the block intersects with the main Rakevet thoroughfare - train track walkway that leads you to the First Station if you walk to the right or if you walk one block further down the hill to Emek Refaim St which is the main Ave in the German Colony. There are also multiple Ashkenazi and Sephardi Shuls almost on every block in the neighborhood and even one right across the stairway of the building. The residents and tourists are very warm and friendly and it feels totally safe and hidden from all the Jerusalem city hustle and bustle but just 5-10 walk way from it. There is also a Mikvah on Gideon Street. There are also 10-12 min buses into Ben Yehuda and Machane Yehuda Shuks on both Emek Refaim or on Derech Chevron Streets. The location is awesome, the neighborhood is my favorite so far with a mix of religious warm and caring Jews from all over the world. It's also a 25-30 walk to the Old City and Kotel via Derech Chevron and Shaar Tzion up the steps. The owners, Akiva, Rafi, and Nir Eliyahu, the onsight apt manager were incredibly accommodating with all our asks and needs. They provided Pesach pots and pans, flatware and utensils and a starter dinnerware sets. They also cleaned the apt to perfection and covered and sealed everything accordingly. The fridge was clean and lined with parchment paper and the washer and dryer worked nicely too. The owners provided 2 electric 2 burner cook tops in place of the one that was covered that could not be used for Pesach. They also provided us with a crock pot, hot plate, water urn and electric kettle. The dining room is quite large with 2 dining tables that could seat even up to 20 guests which allowed for us to spread out across the room for our Pesach Seder night and Yom Tov meals even with a few extra guests . The living room on the top floor, lounge on the bottom floor with the bedrooms and 3 porches enabled everyone to spread out, read, relax, play games with utmost ease and comfort. It was by far one of the best accommodations we had ever rented and I would highly recommend it for a large family. We definitely are most grateful to the owners, to Akiva, to Rafi and most of all to Hashem for granting us with the merit to create beautiful memories with our family in Yerushalayim this past Pesach. "We had a wonderful time in Israel and the Shimshon 5A Apartment suited our needs perfectly. The layout was expansive, the views beautiful, and the location perfect for our needs. We loved the expanding dining room tables and were able to easily accommodate 22 people for a beautiful Shabbat dinner. We arranged the furniture to have a lovely Aufruf kiddish for our son. The apartment lends itself to a relaxing fluidity —with the wrap around porches and duplex living areas.David met us there and was very accommodating-explaining all the workings of the apartment. We would definitely recommend this space and your company!"

We had the most amazing stay at Shimshon 5. We celebrated our sons bar-mitzvah and had plenty of room for our family. The apartment is spacious, clean and in a great part of Baka...near to shopping, dining and shuls. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great family get away in Jerusalem.

We had the most wonderful time in this spacious and well appointed house. The house was clean and prepared for us well. The apartment managers were always available when we had a question and took care of any concerns in a timely fashion. The location is fabulous, within walking distance to many shuls, restaurants and supermarkets. We even rented a large 9 passenger truck and it fit into the underground parking spot. This house was perfect for our needs and allowed us to entertain our seminary daughters friends. We would definitely stay here again!

The apartment is very well located,is very spacious and easily accommodated our extended family and guests for Shabbat meals.It was clean, ready for use and stocked with basics when we arrived. Dealing with Rafi and the rest of the team at Rentals of Distinction was a pleasure. We look forward to staying there on a future trip!

Beautiful apartment in the German Colony. Lots of room for our family of 8. Great kitchen and dining room. Large fridge / freezer to store all our food. Hosted a large number of people over sukkos, no problem. Close to shuls, Emek Refaim stores. Beautiful views !
